Introduction

A Laptop’s looks are arguably just as important as its feature set. Many are willing to take a hit in performance and buy a potentially overpriced laptop, just so it suits their aesthetics. Whether you want a laptop to match your entire setup or just an amazing white laptop, you’ll be aware of the fact that finding good laptops that are not your typical black or grey metal slabs is difficult. Using a white laptop skin is a temporary solution, but a lot of people would prefer something a bit more permanent. Often, while choosing the white variant of a laptop, you will be paying a small premium for it. That’s to be expected, but we made sure that the extra you’ll be paying isn’t something absurd. The specifications and features should be around the ballpark of other similarly priced laptops. If the particular laptop has other color variants then the increase in price shouldn’t be more than approximately 5 to 10 percent to ensure that you’re getting good value for the money you pay. The laptop market is highly saturated and, unless you are already well versed in modern laptops, you will have to spend hours upon hours searching for the perfect product. Luckily, we have done all the hard work for you and scoured the entire internet to find you the best possible hardware for your needs. We have choosen 3 white laptops, and reviewed each of them in detail.

Top 3 White Laptops [Reviews]

MSI Prestige 14

Finding a gaming laptop that’s also white is a really difficult task. That’s because most of them follow a certain design theme and there are very few that have a unique and appealing design. The first laptop on our list is the MSI Prestige 14. While it’s not advertised as being a gaming laptop, but rather a productivity laptop, it certainly has the specifications and features to fulfill your gaming needs. You can think of this as an Ultrabook that happens to be good for graphically intensive tasks as well. The processor on this laptop is the Intel 10th Generation Core i7-10510U 1. 8 – 4. 9GHz. It’s right up there with the highest-end processors and should be more than enough for general usage as well as any form of gaming. Along with that, you get an NVIDIA GeForce GTX1650 (Max-Q) 4G GDDR5. While it may not be as powerful as the RTX series cards found of dedicated gaming laptops of this price range, it’s still leagues ahead of the integrated graphics found in similar Ultrabooks. It’s sort of like you’re getting a bit less power when compared to a dedicated gaming laptop, in a body of a thin and light laptop, so the best of both worlds. Another thing that MSI has included to boost performance is that the underside of the laptop lifts a little when you open the laptop. This gives the keyboard a slight elevation for a more comfortable writing experience as well as helps in air circulation for slightly better thermals and performance. This is also partially the reason why they managed to include such a powerful GPU in such a thin and light laptop. As for the storage, you get a 512 GB NVMe SSD. This should be more than enough for most people. However, if you ever feel the need to upgrade, it’s good to see that MSI has given you the option to do so. It should be noted that these upgrades are a bit more difficult than your typical laptop, but that’s to be expected from a laptop of this category. Along with that, you also have 16 GB of LPDDR3 2133MHz RAM. This should be more than enough for even the most power-intensive tasks. You can even upgrade it if you want, but we think that there shouldn’t be any need to do so. The slight disadvantage of this setup is that you’re only getting DDR3 memory and that too running on a single channel. This means that your RAM will be a bit slower than if it were DDR4 and running on a dual channel. However, despite that, the performance will still be excellent. The display is arguably the best part of this laptop. While normal laptops have regular 1080p panels, the MSI has a 4k and extremely color-accurate display. It’s definitely one of the best screens currently present in the market. Doing any form of color accurate work is perfect for this device. It also makes for a good media consumption device especially considering how it has some pretty good speakers. It even has small bezels which make the overall viewing experience much more pleasing. The port selection on this laptop is decent. It’s not as good as on a traditional laptop, but it’s still better than most other sleek laptops. There are 2 USB-C ports supporting ThunderBolt-3 which means that you can use them to attach an external monitor. These are also used for charging since you don’t get a dedicated charging port. There is also an SD card slot, headphone/microphone jack, and 2 USB-A gen 3 ports. It may not be the best selection out there but is definitely enough to get the job done. There are a few other features that make this device a better deal. For starters, you get a Fingerprint scanner on the top left-hand side of the trackpad, which along with the keyboard are both backlit with white lighting. MSI also managed to fit in a webcam in the small upper bezel. Besides the White color variant, you also have the Black and Pink color variants. This laptop is only 2.64 pounds which makes this a pretty lightweight device, perfect for traveling with. The battery life of this device is pretty average at 5 to 6 hours, but you do get pretty fast charging to top up your battery quickly.

LG Gram Laptop 14-Inch

If gaming laptops aren’t your type, then you should look into the LG Gram. The entire purpose of this laptop is to provide you with the same amazing experience as all the other high-end laptops, while also being extremely thin and light. The “Gram” moniker is to imply that this laptop weighs just a kilogram or 2.2 pounds. It looks amazing, is really portable, and provides you excellent features, making it the perfect laptop for our roundup. The processor found in this laptop is the Intel 10th Gen Core i5-1035G7 with Iris Plus Graphics. It is a noticeable downgrade when compared to the i7 found in the MSI, but if you’re just using it for daily tasks, then the performance difference won’t even be noticeable. You don’t get a dedicated GPU, but the integrated Iris Plus graphics should be more than sufficient enough to handle basic tasks. You can even play some video games casually, although at low settings. If you’re a hardcore gamer or just need a lot of power, then the MSI would be a better fit, but if you just need something to use more casually then this laptop will perfect, especially considering how it is much cheaper. As for the storage, you get a 256 GB M.2 NVMe SSD. This is again, a downgrade from the 512 GB found on the MSI, but it should be sufficient as long as you don’t do a lot of high storage demanding tasks. Luckily, the SSD itself is just as fast as the one found on the MSI, so it’s good to see that LG has not made any compromises in the quality of the component. You even get the option to upgrade it if you ever run out of storage in the future. Along with that, you get 8 GB of DDR4 RAM. This is also upgradeable, and you even get the fastest DDR4 type of RAM, which has become the industry standard. The fast memory and storage mean that you’ll be getting a much snappier experience. Moreover, since both of these are upgradeable, it means that your laptop will be useable even a few years down the line. The display on this device is also pretty good. You get a bright and vivid 14” Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS LCD Screen. It’s easily one of the best displays in this price range and can even be comparable to some much more expensive laptops. It’s even pretty color accurate and gets bright enough for outdoor usage. The port selection on this laptop is excellent for such a thin and light device. You get 2 USB-A ports, 1 USB-C Thunderbolt port, charging port, SD card slot, HDMI, and headphone/microphone jacks. You get all the essential ports as well as a few extras, which makes it perfect for those who have a lot of external accessories. It also gives you the option to use an external hard drive when you run out of storage instead of upgrading the internal one. There are many other features of this laptop that make it a much better deal. Some of these include a fingerprint scanner, amazing speakers, a pretty good backlit keyboard, and a webcam. A common concern about thin and light laptops is that they might not be as durable as thicker laptops. While this is certainly true, but it doesn’t mean that these are flimsy. This is best seen in the LG Gram as it is surprisingly durable and can survive a great deal of torture. It’s safe to say that it will easily survive the day to day wear and tear. As previously mentioned, this laptop only weighs a kilogram and its dimensions are 12.7 x 8.3 x 0.7 inches. Despite the apparently small size, this laptop has a pretty sizeable battery. LG claims that it can last 18 hours, but you’ll find that it will last closer to 12 or 13 hours. That’s still amazing and is pretty much one of the best battery lives you can get on a Windows laptop.

ASUS VivoBook S13

The last laptop on our list is the ASUS VivoBook S13. It’s the cheapest of the three devices, but it still manages to compete really well with the other computers. It provides some amazing features and specifications for the price, all the while having an excellent design. The processor in this laptop is the 10th Generation Intel Core i5-1035G1 (6M Cache, up to 3.6 GHz). It’s a slightly underclocked version of the i5 found on the LG Gram, although the difference in performance is barely noticeable. With this slight decrease, you also get better power consumption as well as a much cheaper laptop. Considering that this laptop is much cheaper than the Gram, we think that the performance is excellent. You don’t get a dedicated GPU with this either, but the integrated graphics should be more than enough for lighter tasks. As for the storage, you get a 512GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD. It’s actually double the capacity of the LG, and the same as the MSI. That’s pretty impressive, especially considering the price. It’s safe to say that not even heavy users will be running out of storage anytime soon. You can even upgrade the SSD to a 1 TB one, although it’s highly likely that you wouldn’t have to since the on-board storage is already sufficient. In other aspects like the speed, and ease of upgrade, this laptop is just as good as its more expensive counterparts. The RAM is an 8GB LPDDR4X stick. It’s right about what you would expect from a device in this price range. You can choose to upgrade it to 16 GB. While you will most likely not have to do that right now, but if anytime in the future you feel that your laptop is getting slower, then a quick RAM upgrade will breathe in new life into this laptop, a help it lasts a few more years. The display is pretty nice for a budget device. It’s a 13.3” Full HD Nano Edge bezel display with a stunning 88% screen-to-body ratio. It gets bright enough for outdoor usage because of the antiglare coating. You even get good color and sharp images. There are very few bezels around the panel which makes it pleasing to look at. It also had good viewing angles. Overall, we are really pleased with the quality of the display. The port selection is amazing. It is right about what you would expect from a laptop of this price range. It’s pretty much just as good as the one found on the LG Gram, so you know that you’re getting a really good selection. The ports include 1x Headphone-out & Audio-in Combo Jack; 1x HDMI; 2x USB 2.0; 1x USB3.1 Type-A; 1x USB3.1 Type C. Sadly, the USB-C port doesn’t support thunderbolt. That means you can’t use it to attach an external display or for charging. But this isn’t much of a problem, since this device is nearly half the price of the MSI, and laptops of this price range usually don’t support Thunderbolt. Some other features of this laptop include a fingerprint sensor, amazing speakers for a great multimedia experience, and a webcam. The reason why we put this laptop on the list is because of the white color and build. It’s made up of high-quality materials since the body is made out of metal. This is especially noteworthy since there are very few laptops that are this affordable, and have amazing features as well as excellent build quality. There are two color variants, one of them is a glossy black and the other one is a glossy white. What’s interesting is that the white one is actually slightly cheaper than the black one. Moreover, the glossy finish looks the best out of the three laptops we chose. The light reflects off the surface in such a manner that there is a slightly blue and pink hue which looks really beautiful. The dimensions of this laptop are 12 x 7.7 x 0.59 inches and it weighs 2.6 pounds. The size and weight are pretty similar to the MSI, which just goes to show that how good of a deal you’re getting. As for the battery life, you get about 8 to 9 hours of screen on time. It may not be as good as the LG, but it will still provide an all-days worth of battery life.

Final Words

We looked at some amazing laptops at different price points. They were very similar in many ways, yet each of them offered some unique features. Choosing the perfect one is going to be at the end your own decision. Many may still be confused as to which one they should go for them. For them, we will choose our pick for which laptop we think deserves your money. In the following section, we will tell you what makes each of these laptops a great deal and why you may nor may not want to buy it. The first laptop we reviewed was the MSI Prestidge 14. It’s a highly regarded laptop, due to its amazing design and specifications. There is a lot to love about this laptop whether it be its display or intuitive keyboard lift. It does a lot of things right, with very few flaws. It does have a slightly high price tag, but if you manage to overlook that, you’ll realize that it’s one of the best devices available. Next comes the LG Gram. This is yet another amazing laptop. The highlight is definitely the extremely thin and light design. Not only that, despite its lightweight, it’s surprisingly durable, perhaps even more durable than the other options on this list. Another great thing about it is the amazing battery life, which is better than most other laptops out there. You don’t even miss out on other essential features like the port selection or display quality, making it a really good option for almost everyone. The last one on our list is the Asus VivoBook S13. While not being the cheapest laptop out there, it’s still pretty affordable. This laptop is proof that you don’t need to spend a lot to get an amazing laptop. It has some really powerful components, a stunning design, and a lot of other features that make it a noteworthy inclusion on our list. It’s finally time to choose which device is the best. In our opinion, the best value provided by any device on this list is the Asus VivoBook S13. It’s affordable, so one would expect it to be providing a much inferior experience. Fortunately, that’s not true. You get pretty much identical performance when compared to the LG Gram, and even some extra inclusion like a spacious SSD. Even when compared to the almost double priced MSI Prestige, you’re only missing out on the GPU and a slightly more powerful processor. Otherwise, you’re getting pretty much the same experience for a much better price! However, we do realize that a lot of people do need the graphical power of the Prestidge so that can be a viable option as well if you don’t mind the high price tag. As for the LG Gram, it’s a great laptop as well, but it’s in that awkward middle price range where we would suggest either saving your money and getting the VivoBook or spend a bit more to spec up to the Prestidge. But if it has some feature that the other don’t and which is important for you like a commendable battery life then it’s a good laptop to buy as well.
