Luckily, the SSD itself is just as fast as the one found on the MSI, so it’s good to see that LG has not made any compromises in the quality of the component. You even get the option to upgrade it if you ever run out of storage in the future. Along with that, you get 8 GB of DDR4 RAM. This is also upgradeable, and you even get the fastest DDR4 type of RAM, which has become the industry standard. The fast memory and storage mean that you’ll be getting a much snappier experience. Moreover, since both of these are upgradeable, it means that your laptop will be useable even a few years down the line. The display on this device is also pretty good. You get a bright and vivid 14” Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS LCD Screen. It’s easily one of the best displays in this price range and can even be comparable to some much more expensive laptops. LG claims that it can last 18 hours, but you’ll find that it will last closer to 12 or 13 hours. That’s still amazing and is pretty much one of the best battery lives you can get on a Windows laptop.

The last laptop on our list is the ASUS VivoBook S13. It’s the cheapest of the three devices, but it still manages to compete really well with the other computers. It provides some amazing features and specifications for the price, all the while having an excellent design. The processor in this laptop is the 10th Generation Intel Core i5-1035G1 (6M Cache, up to 3.6 GHz). It’s a slightly underclocked version of the i5 found on the LG Gram, although the difference in performance is barely noticeable. With this slight decrease, you also get better power consumption as well as a much cheaper laptop. Considering that this laptop is much cheaper than the Gram, we think that the performance is excellent. You don’t get a dedicated GPU with this either, but the integrated graphics should be more than enough for lighter tasks. As for the storage, you get a 512GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD. It’s actually double the capacity of the LG, and the same as the MSI. That’s pretty impressive, especially considering the price. It’s safe to say that not even heavy users will be running out of storage anytime soon. You can even upgrade the SSD to a 1 TB one, although it’s highly likely that you wouldn’t have to since the on-board storage is already sufficient. In other aspects like the speed, and ease of upgrade, this laptop is just as good as its more expensive counterparts. The RAM is an 8GB LPDDR4X stick. It’s right about what you would expect from a device in this price range. You can choose to upgrade it to 16 GB. While you will most likely not have to do that right now, but if anytime in the future you feel that your laptop is getting slower, then a quick RAM upgrade will breathe in new life into this laptop, a help it lasts a few more years. The display is pretty nice for a budget device. It’s a 13.3” Full HD Nano Edge bezel display with a stunning 88% screen-to-body ratio. It gets bright enough for outdoor usage because of the antiglare coating. You even get good color and sharp images. There are very few bezels around the panel which makes it pleasing to look at. It also had good viewing angles. Overall, we are really pleased with the quality of the display. The port selection is amazing. It is right about what you would expect from a laptop of this price range. It’s pretty much just as good as the one found on the LG Gram, so you know that you’re getting a really good selection. But this isn’t much of a problem, since this device is nearly half the price of the MSI, and laptops of this price range usually don’t support Thunderbolt. Some other features of this laptop include a fingerprint sensor, amazing speakers for a great multimedia experience, and a webcam. The reason why we put this laptop on the list is because of the white color and build. It’s made up of high-quality materials since the body is made out of metal. This is especially noteworthy since there are very few laptops that are this affordable, and have amazing features as well as excellent build quality. In our opinion, the best value provided by any device on this list is the Asus VivoBook S13. It’s affordable, so one would expect it to be providing a much inferior experience. Fortunately, that’s not true. You get pretty much identical performance when compared to the LG Gram, and even some extra inclusion like a spacious SSD. Even when compared to the almost double priced MSI Prestige, you’re only missing out on the GPU and a slightly more powerful processor. Otherwise, you’re getting pretty much the same experience for a much better price! However, we do realize that a lot of people do need the graphical power of the Prestidge so that can be a viable option as well if you don’t mind the high price tag. As for the LG Gram, it’s a great laptop as well, but it’s in that awkward middle price range where we would suggest either saving your money and getting the VivoBook or spend a bit more to spec up to the Prestidge. But if it has some feature that the other don’t and which is important for you like a commendable battery life then it’s a good laptop to buy as well.
